From the first call to the folder on your shelf
Most plans take two or three meetings over a few weeks. Care planning for a parent can move faster when a date forces it.
- 01
Step 1: Starting with a phone call
You tell me who the plan is for and what prompted it. I tell you honestly whether it is work I do, and what to bring.
- 02
Step 2: The meeting where we plan
We go through what you own, who you trust and what you want to happen. I take notes in your words, not mine.
- 03
Step 3: Drafts, in plain words
You get the documents with a one-page summary of what each one does. We change anything that reads wrong before it is final.
- 04
Step 4: A signing with witnesses
I provide the witnesses and a notary, and I check each page as it is signed so nothing is missed.
- 05
Step 5: A folder your family can find
Originals, copies, a list of accounts and who to call. You decide where it lives, and I note where.
- 06
Step 6: A check-in when life changes
A birth, a move, a divorce or a diagnosis can change a plan. Write to me then, and I will tell you whether anything needs to change.
What it costs
Flat fees for documents, and a written quote for the rest
Fees are quoted before I begin and put in writing, and each one says what it covers.
- Flat fee01
A will and the documents beside it
The fee is flat for one person or for a couple, set before we begin. It covers the planning meeting, a will, a durable power of attorney and a health care directive for each person, one round of changes, and the signing with witnesses and a notary.

- Flat fee02
A living trust plan
The fee is flat for one person or for a couple, set before we begin. It includes the trust, a will that sends everything to it, powers of attorney, health care directives, and the deed and account letters to move property into the trust. County recording fees are paid to the county.

Deed and account letters
Recording fees are separate
- Quoted in writing03
Long-term care planning and probate
These vary too much for one price. After a first conversation I send a written quote for the whole job, so you know the number before you decide.
Written quote first
Court and filing fees are separate
Filing, recording and court fees are charged by those offices and are not part of a flat fee.
Which one is yours?
Call and describe the situation in a sentence or two. I will say which of these it is.
